Cynthia Marshall
CEO of the Dallas Mavericks


Cynt Marshall has been a dynamic force for inclusion and diversity within the Mavericks organization and over a 36-year career at AT&T. When Cynt was hired as new the CEO of the Mavs in March 2018, she set her sights on a culture transformation. Her vision was for the Mavericks organization to become the NBA standard for inclusion and diversity, and brought transparency, trust and her values-based leadership style that evolved the company culture in her first 100 days.
Prior to her joining the Mavs, Cynt founded Marshalling Resources, a consulting firm specializing in Leadership, Diversity & Inclusion, Culture Transformation and overall optimization of people resources. Upon the company naming its first Chief Inclusion Officer in June 2017, Cynt worked with The Dow Chemical Company to develop and implement a strategy for institutionalizing an inclusive culture.
Cynt’s notoriety began many years ago as a young Officer at AT&T and grew exponentially when she served as Senior Vice President – Human Resources & Chief Diversity Officer at AT&T. There she was responsible for identifying and developing leaders, aligning employees with the company’s vision and priorities, overseeing major business unit HR support, performance development, employee engagement, skills transformation initiatives, EEO and Affirmative Action. Cynt also led the team that created a world class Diversity and Inclusion culture, landing AT&T in the top 3 on Diversity Inc’s 2017 Top 50 list of companies. She also spearheaded the work that for the first time placed AT&T on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list in 2017, one of only two Fortune 50 companies.
Before her SVP-Human Resources and Chief Diversity Office roles, Cynt served as President-AT&T North Carolina where she became the first African-American chair of the North Carolina State Chamber of Commerce. Prior to her North Carolina appointment, Cynt held a variety of executive line and staff, technical and non-technical positions at AT&T and its predecessor companies.
Widely recognized for her visionary leadership and ability to get things done Cynt is the recipient of several honors and awards. Most recently, Cynt was touted as one of Adweek’s 30 Most Powerful Women in Sports and was selected as one of the 2019 Women of Power Legacy Award honorees by Black Enterprise. In 2017, she was honored by The Network Journal as one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Business. In 2017, Cynt was awarded the ATHENA® Leadership Program Award by the Dallas Regional Chamber, which recognizes exceptional women who excel in their careers, contribute to their communities and develop women leaders. This annual award is presented by chambers of commerce, women’s organizations and universities worldwide. In 2019 and three times prior, she was selected as one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Corporate America” by Black Enterprise magazine and named to Ebony magazine’s 2016 “Power 100” list. In 2014, industry analysts and members of the press conferred on Cynt the HR Executive of the Year - Best in Biz Award. For her efforts on behalf of the people of North Carolina, in 2013 Cynt received the prestigious Leadership North Carolina Governor’s Award, which honors just one citizen each year for lifetime achievements.
Cynt graduated from the University of California-Berkeley with degrees in Business Administration and Human Resources Management and holds four honorary Doctorate degrees. She has chaired a variety of non-profit boards and is currently on the board of Dallas CASA, Dallas Regional Chamber, Texas Women’s Foundation and a member of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC).
The fourth of six children, Cynt grew up in Richmond, California, and lives in the Dallas area. She and her husband, Kenneth Marshall, have four adult children.

Cam Marston
Expert on the Generations


Cam Marston is the leading expert on the impact of generational change and its impact on the workplace and marketplace. As an author, columnist, blogger, and lecturer, he imparts a clear understanding of how generational demographics are changing the landscape of business. Marston and his firm, Generational Insights, have provided research and consultation on generational issues to hundreds of companies and professional groups, ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations, as well as major professional associations, for over 20 years.
Marston’s books, articles, columns, and blog describe and analyze the major generations of our time: Matures (born before 1946), Baby Boomers, (born 1946-64), Generation X (born 1965-79), Millennials (born 1980-2000), and iGen (born 2000+). He explains how their generational workplace and marketplace preferences affect every aspect of business, including recruiting and retention, management and motivation, and sales and marketing.
His first book, Motivating The “What’s In It For Me?” Workforce (2005), explores the characteristics and motivations that each generation brings to the workforce and suggests management tactics applicable to any business setting. His next book, Generational Insights (2010) is a guide to the best practices in managing generational issues. Generational Selling Tactics That Work (2011) is the first book-length study of generational approaches to sales and marketing. His short book The Gen-Savvy Financial Advisor (updated in 2017) is a must-read in the financial services industry.
Marston’s half-day training program, “Leading Multi-Generational Teams,” features the Gen-Flex® process which teaches leaders how to be flexible in their generational workplace preferences to get the best performance out of their teams. His short, online micro-videos for sales, recruiting, and management are designed to help managers and leaders understand the reason such generational disparities exist and how to overcome them through specific sales and workforce tactics.
In 2018 Marston launched a regional radio show (also available as a podcast) called What’s Working with Cam Marston with expert guests offering insights and opinions on the trends that are shaping today’s workplace and workforce.
Marston’s expertise has also been featured in the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, the Chicago Tribune, BusinessWeek, Fortune, Money, FastCompany, and Forbes, as well as on Good Morning America, CNN International, and the BBC. He writes a column for Investment Advisor, and has been a featured columnist in many trade journals. AMERICA’S GOT TALENT Season 14 (2019) Winner, Kodi Lee is a 22-year old blind and autistic musical prodigious savant. He is one of only approximately 25 in the world today who possess his extraordinary abilities. Kodi’s amazing gift lies within his musical expression, perfect pitch, and passion for all forms of music. Kodi has an audio photographic memory, in which he can recall music he hears after just one listen. An unbelievable gift in itself, but his musical expression and prowess top even that. He has been performing his singing and piano expertise all across the globe for many years. He currently performs locally at a variety of venues including local restaurants, wineries, and music events all around town. Recently he was invited to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City. His musical repertoire ranges from rock to jazz, to R & B, and pop. Plus his mastery of the classics such as Bach, Chopin, Mozart and the list goes on. He literally has a library of songs in his mind that would rival any jukebox. But he doesn’t stop there. He recently has picked up tap dancing and he continues to amaze with his musical expression through dance and vocalization. Kodi’s story, his inspirational determination, and indomitable spirit to overcome all obstacles have been featured in Orange County Register, LA Times, numerous broadcast television features and documentaries. He also shares his gift to help bring awareness to autism and many other charitable organizations. Born with optic nerve hypoplasia, surviving a life-saving surgery at 5 days old, and being diagnosed with autism at an early age has never stopped Kodi from reaching for his dreams. Kodi continues to pursue his musical career and his dream is to be a “rock star” performing for thousands of fans. Any opportunity Kodi has to perform is a good day for him, and the bigger more energetic the audience, the more he loves to shine!

Betty Fraser
CELEBRITY CHEF


Seen on the second season of the Bravo hit “Top Chef,” Betty Fraser became a fan favorite for her never-ending energy, constant smile and “tell it like it is attitude.” Co-owner of the award-winning, Hollywood, CA restaurant Grub, and the successful As You Like It Catering she has carved out a niche in the highly competitive restaurant and catering field.   A native of San Francisco, Betty was an accomplished musical theatre performer prior to embarking on her culinary career. Her successful “after-show” parties fueled her desire to pursue to become a chef and in 1995, with her close friend Denise DeCarlo, the pair launched As You Like It Catering and were almost immediately in high-demand. After five years of running a successful catering business, the pair decided they needed a bigger kitchen to accommodate the increasing demand for their services. Running across a 1920’s bungalow that had been converted into a restaurant, they purchased the building and in 2001 Grub was born. 
An instant success, Grub and their signature “California Comfort Food” has been embraced by the media and public alike with awards including the 2010 “Best Breakfast” in LA,  2009 “Best American Food”, 2003, 2004 and 2005 “Best Lunch Spot” in Los Angeles as voted on by LACitysearch as well as the 2004 and 2009 award for “Best Brunch Spot.”  Also winning Best Tuna Melt in Los Angeles by Los Angeles Magazine, and numerous mentions across the nation for their famous “Crack Bacon”. 
Betty’s good looks, high-energy personality and cooking skills have also caught the eye of the media. In addition to her Season Two appearance on Bravo’s Top Chef and subsequent 2007Top Chef Holiday Special, as well as her return appearances on Top Chef Masters she can also be seen on Bravotv.com’s Lexus 2010 Webisode series - Perfectly Delish with the well known chef, Susan Feniger. Betty is a recurring guest chef on Hallmark Channel’s popular lifestyle show, “Home and Family” Along with her partner Denise DeCarlo, the other half of the “Grub Girls” she was the guest chef in five, 30-minute episodes on the NBC nationally-syndicated Recipe TV show “The World’s Greatest Chefs” which takes viewers into the kitchens of some of the most high-profile chefs in the nation. Additional recent television appearances include guest judge on FYI’s “Man vs Child”, The Food Network’s “Cutthroat Kitchen”, Weighing In” and “Rachel Ray’s Tasty Travels” where Grub was highlighted as the best breakfast spot in L.A, The Travel Channel’s “Bacon Paradise”,  The Cooking Channel’s “Cooking with Salt and Pepa”, “ Road Trip with G Garvin”,  “Reality Chat” on the TV Guide Channel, “Holiday Home Invasion” on the WE Network, “Trendspotting” onABC News, YourL.A on KNBC and as chef consultants on the Style Network show “Foodie Call.” Betty was seen on “The Today Show” cooking her “Ba-Da-Bing Betty’s Grilled Cheese Sandwich” with Al Roker and is an in-demand cooking instructor at William-Sonoma stores throughout the Southland. She is also the two-time defending champion in the yearly LA Magazine Food Event cooking competition and was the specialty food stylist for “Greatest American Dog”. In 2013, the Grub Gals were also the spokeswomen for Happy Eggs, the highly anticipated free range egg company where they were on numerous television spots onKNBC’s Good Day LA promoting the product.  In 2014 Betty was a guest judge on the popular “Master Chef Junior” with Gordon Ramsay and in 2015 she is a co-star in “The Dinner Bash”, a very popular webisode series about three female chefs and their dating experiences in Los Angeles.   Betty continues to travel the U.S. and internationally doing food and wine events that raise money for noted non-profit agencies.
